Noemi Zamudio, FNP-BC, APRN

Noemi Zamudio, FNP-BC, APRN, completed the In Person Preceptorship Program with The Confidence Lab. Her six months in Cohort 2 gave her the boost to embrace her entrepreneurial skills to open her own aesthetics and wellness clinic.
What were your professional backgrounds before aesthetics?
Before entering the aesthetics field, I worked full-time as a Nurse Case Manager for the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program. In that role, i supported women through complex healthcare journeys by coordinating care, providing education, advocating for their needs, and helping them navigate barriers to treatment. At the same time, i worked part-time as an IV nurse at a medspa, where I was introduced to the world of aesthetics and wellness. I also worked in labor and delivery where I saw happy and sad events. In that role, I provided healing that was both physical and mental. Having experience in both public health and aesthetic medicine gave me a unique perspective and helped me realize that I could combine my passion for patient care with a field that empowers individuals to feel confident in their own skin.
What Inspired You to Pursue a Career in Aesthetics?
I was inspired to pursue aesthetics because it allowed me to blend two things that I truly enjoy: the science of medicine and the artistry involved in creating beautiful, natural-looking results. I love that aesthetic medicine isn't about changing who someone is. It's about enhancing their existing features and helping them feel like the best version of themself. Watching patients gain confidence after treatment and seeing how even subtle changes can positively impact them is incredibly rewarding. I also value the relationships that develop in this specialty with fellow nurse injectors who support one another's growth and learning.
Why Did You Choose The Confidence Lab's Preceptorship Program?
I chose The Confidence Lab's Preceptorship Program because of its outstanding reputation within the aesthetics community. I had followed the Lab on social media for quite some time and admired its commitment to education, hands-on learning, and creating opportunities for aesthetic providers to grow their skills. Additionally, Kristin Dobry, who is both a friend and former coworker, highly recommended the program. I had shared with her that although I was passionate about aesthetics, I struggled with confidence and wanted to strengthen my clinical skills. She spoke so highly of her experience with the team at The Confidence Lab that I knew this was the environment where I could continue to learn, gain confidence, and become a safer and more skilled injector.
What Is Your Favorite Aspect of Working in the Field of Aesthetics?
My favorite aspect of working in aesthetics is that I still get to practice medicine while helping patients feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. Every consultation and treatment plan is individualized, allowing me to educate patients, set realistic expectations, and collaborate with them to achieve their goals. It's incredibly fulfilling to see patients leave feeling refreshed, empowered, and excited about their results. The impact goes beyond appearance. It enhances self-esteem and overall well-being.
What Are You Doing Now?
Today I am the owner and solo practitioner of my own aesthetics and wellness clinic. Building my practice has been one of my greatest accomplishments. It has allowed me to combine my years of nursing experience, my passion for aesthetics, and my entrepreneurial sprit to create a space where patients feel welcomed, heard, and cared for. I provide personalized aesthetic and wellness treatments with a focus on safety, education, and natural results, while continuing to invest in ongoing training to ensure that I deliver the highest quality care.
What Pearl did you learn in The Preceptorship Program that has shaped your practice?
One of the most valuable pearls I learned during the Preceptorship Program was that less is more. In aesthetics, conservative treatment often produces the most beautiful outcomes. Taking a thoughtful, gradual approach allows patients to maintain their natural features while achieving subtle enhancements that age gracefully. This philosophy has become the foundation of my practice. I prioritize patient safety, individualized treatment plans, and natural-looking results over chasing trends or overcorrecting. Sometimes the best treatment is knowing when not to do more.
