Welcome to "Where Are They Now?", a series that follows the journey of individuals who have attended one of our courses and how they have applied the skills and knowledge gained with us in their professional and personal lives. We believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and we take pride in knowing that our program has had a positive impact on the lives of our attendees.

Introducing Flavia, our latest trainee that we're excited to highlight. Flavia attended a 1-on-1 training with Lamija on Full facial rejuvenation with neuromodulators and facial fillers.
What were you doing before you got into aesthetics?
Prior to entering the field of aesthetics, my background was in critical care and hospital based medicine. I worked in the ICU for over 5 years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner and branching into aesthetics.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
I was driven to pursue a career in aesthetics when I was working in the surgical trauma ICU. I worked through the COVID-19 Pandemic alongside highly skilled surgeons that emphasized a thoughtful, holistic approach to patient care. That is when I realized it was not solely just about healing a patient from the inside medically, but there was something powerful about feeling confident on the outside as well. The same notion applied to myself undergoing many drastic skin changes that were often distressing and realizing the profound impact self-care has on healing. Our skin is the largest organ of our body and designed to protect us. We often forget how important it is to address skin health.
Why did you choose The Confidence Lab's training program?
Training at The Confidence Lab was recommended by my amazing boss Trish, the amazing founder of Self Skin Studio in Wilmington, NC. We pride ourselves in providing the best patient experience, which aligns with the values of The Confidence Lab. Training with The Confidence Lab to build a foundation of skills with regards to tox and filler that prioritized safety and natural results was a must. The Confidence Lab's training program exemplifies safety and passion with making patients happy and look like their best self. It was an easy choice to train with Lamija Hubjer, PA-C. She made me feel comfortable and well-supported throughout the 1:1 training day. She fosters genuine excitement and focuses on patient comfort and mastering the consultation process.
What is your favorite aspect of working in the field of aesthetics?
Boosting someone's confidence and watching how that transforms and enhances a patient's quality of life on so many levels. It becomes a trickle down effect where if we feel confident and beautiful, that resonates to better overall health and well-being. It is important to take good care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically.
What are you doing now?
I am currently working at Self Skin Studio as an injector. I am receiving training in tox, filler, Sciton BBL/Moxi lasers, and skincare consultations. I am blessed and excited to be part of such an incredible team. Everyone is hard-working and
cares so much about the patient experience. We strive to be a place of warmth, positivity, and nourishment.
What advice would you give to those considering a career in this field?
I am newer to the field of aesthetics as well, however my advice to those considering a career in the field of aesthetics is to always maintain a hunger for learning and a passion to help others. As a medical provider, whether in the hospital or in an out-patient setting I am always driven to make each individual feel safe, heard, and to not feel like a number. We all deserve to feel amazing and it is a privilege to be a small part of the patient's skin health journey.
