10 Steps to Take Before Applying for Your First Job as an Aesthetic Practitioner

Preparation & positive thinking is everything when it comes to launching your new career into aesthetics. Here are ten steps to help you get started:

1. Verify Your Licensure and Insurance: Check with your state's regulations to ensure you have the right licensure and insurance to practice legally in your area.

2. Complete Foundational learning: Make sure you’ve completed a foundation training course in neuromodultors and facial fillers. Choose a reputable training center and show potential employers that you have skin in the game and have invested in your education.

3. Shout it from the rooftops: Start telling people that you're entering the aesthetic field. The more you vocalize your intentions, the more committed you’ll feel. Don’t shy away from it—embrace it and own it! You want this right?

4.Inform Friends and Family: Let your friends and family know that you’ll be working in aesthetics. They trust you, and when you land your new job, they’ll be eager to come to you for treatments, keep close follow up and build your patient base all the while showcasing your initiative to future employers.

5. Network on Social Media: Connect with groups and professionals in the aesthetic field on social media. Engage with others, contribute to discussions, use your manners and create meaningful connections.

6. Research Your Dream Practices: Make a wishlist of the practices you’d love to work at, even if they aren’t currently hiring. Research their philosophies, values, and mission statements to understand what they stand for.

7. Get an Aesthetic Treatment: Treat yourself to an aesthetic procedure or three. This not only gives you personal insight to share but also helps you create a connection with the practitioners treating you and charm the front desk staff at your appointments

8. Make an Impression: Find ways to get noticed by your preferred practices. Consider bringing in homemade cookies or a handwritten note, beautiful resume to demonstrate your enthusiasm and dedication to becoming part of their team. In any role!

9. Design a Standout Resume: If you want to stand out from the crowd, use a beautiful yet professional design for your resume. Free design platforms like Canva offer templates that make it easy to create an impactful resume without needing graphic design skills.

10. Stay Positive and Persistent: Remember, the job search process can take time. Stay positive and persistent, and don’t hesitate to reach out for support from your network.
